Major General (ret.) Robert M. Diamond, Senior Associate
Major General (ret.) Robert Diamond is currently a Senior Partner in the Washington, DC law firm of Whitten & Diamond. During his 35 year military career he served as the Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Army's Administrative Assistant with responsibility for strategic planning and operations in the National Capital Region. Previously he held the position of Deputy Chief, Army Reserve (IMA). General Diamond is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He also holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law and a Master of Law Degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Commissioned from ROTC in 1970, General Diamond's assignments included Administrative Officer of the 450th Civil Affairs Company and 352nd Civil Affairs Command in Riverdale, Maryland, and Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General and Planning Officer in the 310th Theater Army Area Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He served in various staff positions in the Offices of the Chief, Army Reserve, and Secretary of Defense. As a Colonel he was Commander of the 157th Individual Mobilization Augmentee Detachment in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of the Transportation Officers Basic Course, the Adjutant General Officer Advanced Course, Command and General Staff College, and the Army War College, from which he received the Excellence in Writing Award.
General Diamond's awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, four awards of the Legion of Merit, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Staff Identification Badge.
